Gerede People's House began its activities in 1935 as one of the important cultural institutions of the Republican era in the provinces. People’s House Houses undertook significant roles in promoting the principles of the Republic, disseminating social modernization, and revitalizing cultural life among the public. During its first year, the Gerede People’s House carried out notable activities in the fields of theatre, sports, rural affairs, social aid, public courses, and publishing. The article has been prepared within the framework of a historical review based on archival documents and periodicals. In this context, the study primarily utilizes documents from the Presidential Republican Archives of Türkiye, contemporary newspaper reports, and relevant literature. The findings demonstrate that the Gerede People’s House rapidly became an influential institution in the social and cultural life of the region. In particular, through conferences, theatrical performances, village visits, and social aid activities, efforts were made to establish strong ties between the public and the ideology of the Republic.
