YABANCI ÇOCUKLARA TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETİMİNDE HİKÂYE TEMELLİ DİL GELİŞİMİ

Özet

This study examines the lexical elements of the Aslı Hikâye Series, which was developed to teach Turkish to Syrian students. Lexical knowledge is a fundamental component of the language learning process and plays a decisive role in the development of communicative competence. The research aims to analyze the words, idioms, reduplications, and proverbs in the series through both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Conducted within a qualitative research design, the study employs the document analysis method and utilizes the Cibakaya 2.4.1 software. The texts were digitized, the words were reduced to their root forms, and the lexical items were classified according to their types. The findings indicate that verbs and nouns constitute the majority of the lexical units in the series, while idioms and reduplications are used to a limited extent, and proverbs are not included. The linguistic input was found to be appropriate for the learners’ age and proficiency levels. In conclusion, the series provides a functional resource for language instruction; however, a more balanced inclusion of culturally rich lexical elements is recommended.
